Team Herbalife and Leisure Lakes Bikes Support Elite Racing Team

Team Herbalife Leisure Lakes Bikes.com is proud to announce the amalgamation of these two great companies to take this cycling team forward in 2012. Herbalife are no strangers to the road racing scene, but for Leisure Lakes Bikes.com it is a new venture.

For 2012 Team Herbalife Leisure Lakes Bikes.com will be using Herbalife 24 nutritional products for racing and training which provides a full complement of nutritional requirement for the competitive athlete around the clock. The Herbalife 24 programme provides the athlete with the right ingredients in the correct quantities, to train and recover, without becoming deplete of the essential macro nutrients . With road cycling at an all time high, Tim Noy, company owner of Leisure Lakes Bikes wanted to raise the company’s profile on the road scene, and at the same time help these talented cyclists improve on their fantastic 2011 results. Seizing the opportunity to be involved with this exciting team’s image which fits in well with Leisure Lakes Bikes’ business, the company wish all the athletes the very best of success for 2012.

Leisure Lakes bikes will be putting 100% into backing up the squad to ensure the team and riders are in great shape to build on their 2011 season .
Matt Chester from the Bury branch will be attending major races with a large Leisure Lakes presence and will also be assisting as mechanic to ensure the riders only have to concentrate on their races and winning. Matt comes from a road racing background and has a great passion for the sport and feels with the current riders it now has, this is a fantastic opportunity for Team Herbalife Leisure Lakes Bikes.com  to carry on being one of the best teams in the U.K.

In 2012 the team will be riding Specialized Tarmac SL-4 Pro SRAM RED bikes with Zee bottle cages supplied directly via Specialized UK who will also be providing the team’s Specialized S-Works Prevail helmets and offering the riders a choice of shoes dependent upon rider choice; all backed up by great support provided by the Leisure Lakes Bikes.com’s seven stores based around the UK. Fisher Outdoor Leisure will also be supplying the team with SRAM wheel sets.

For 2012 the team will be sporting a new team kit designed by Onimpex Ltd, suppliers of innovative Belgium cycling attire and providers of clothing to many of the European national team kits.

Also continuing their support for the team are Cyclaim; a team of cycling injury experts who can assist in getting your bike on the road and you back in the saddle as quickly as possible after an accident.

New to the team are colour expert and decorating partner Dulux who are proud to be sponsoring Team Herbalife Leisure Lakes Bikes.com and wish them every success in 2012. Guy Williams, Managing Director of AkzoNobel, the world’s largest paints and coatings company and owner of Dulux, Cuprinol, Hammerite and Polycell explains: “We are really pleased to lend our support to such an exciting project. The team enables young people who are passionate about cycling to pursue a sport that they love by funding races and providing them with the best equipment available. In just three years the team has gone from strength to strength and we hope that they will go even further in 2012.”

Shortly the team will be undergoing performance tests at the University of Chester where VO2 Max and lactate threshold tests will be performed in the university’s newly completed sports laboratory providing each rider with a full athletic profile.

In the new year the team will be returning to Spain for a pre-season training camp with Ciclo Costa Blanca; based in south-east Spain; they are long established in providing year round cycling holidays and training camps for both road and mountain biking.

For the new season the team are also proud to announce three new signings. From Team Sigma Sport Specialized is Kit Gilham, winner of the King of the Mountains in the FBD Insurance RAS 2008, a consistent performer in the Premier Calendar series and current Yorkshire Divisional champion. From Endura Pedal Power Development Team is Robbie Hassan, a young man with an enormous talent. After several wins in 2011 Robbie took himself to the Basque country where his climbing ability earnt him some great results in several UCI ranked races. Tommy Bustard also joins the team from BBM Sportscover; a training partner of some of the Yorkshire based riders, Tommy’s power is becoming legendary and has already put it to good use with several wins to his name in 2011.
